There is an interesting phenomenon in the world of wetpour flooring. In some countries, often those with the sunniest weather, play areas with very varied colours predominate and very often the main ones are light colours, which makes perfect sense to reduce to some extent the temperature reached on the surface at summer.
In other countries, on the other hand, gray flooring, dark colours or very little colour variants are the most common in playgrounds and I do not know the justification, but it may be due to cultural reasons, custom or budget.
For years, when needing blend of colours, the only option rubber flooring installers had was to mix on site the different bags of basic granulated colours in certain proportions. Depending on the proportions of the mix, making them on site can be challenging. Small differences in the proportions or in the bulk density of each of the colours can cause visible differences in the appearance of the flooring, once it has been already laid and impossible to see before laying.
Throughout the last decade, all the manufacturers of granules for rubber flooring have been introducing online mixing applications on their web pages so that designers, architects, installers, or area owners could visualize in advance the desired colour mixture or blend and purchase already in bags the appropriate proportions of the selected colors, without having to do "on-site" dosages and therefore with less risk of lack of uniformity in the mixed colours.
Transitions patterns of colour involving 5 or 6 colours enable Polysoft to offer artistic design possibilities.
Some manufacturers offer today on their website a configurator for colour gradient blends packed in the different proportions of the desired transition.
The images below show some examples of gradient transition patterns offered by Polysoft.
